Project Highlight – Spent Fuel Facility, East Asia
Challenge: The client required a precision fuel handling crane with 360° control, redundant safety, and seismic-resistant steel framework inside a spent fuel dry storage warehouse.
Our Solution:
Delivery the equipment which is a critical system used for the storage and transfer of nuclear fuel rods. The loader features full-vehicle servo control, with the hoisting and traveling mechanisms equipped for high-precision positioning. Positioning accuracy is ±1.5 mm on the horizontal plane and ±1 mm in vertical lift. The system supports fully automated operation, with automatic addressing and loading/unloading across 260 preset points.
Both the trolley and hoisting systems are built with redundant configurations—each equipped with a primary and backup motor capable of independent operation—ensuring uninterrupted performance. Manual control options are also available, allowing full functionality even in the event of a complete power outage.
To prevent radioactive leakage, the loader is equipped with an integrated radiation-shielded chamber, enabling sealed and secure transfer of nuclear materials.
