Theory and practical work assessed together
Participants demonstrated welding technique in different positions, connecting knowledge of the process with its execution. The review team included specialists from the process and quality-assurance departments, with the company’s women’s organisation supervising the event.
The final assessment was to combine competition results with daily performance. The programme recognised workshop skills while providing a setting for employees to compare techniques and develop their work.
Relate fabrication skills to the crane’s inspection plan
Welded crane girders require the fabrication process and inspection scope specified for the structure. For a procurement review, identify the applicable welding requirements, material records and inspection checkpoints in the order documents.
A skills competition describes workforce development. Acceptance of an ordered crane should rely on the manufacturing and inspection evidence associated with that equipment, including any agreed weld examination and dimensional checks.
