Use this before requesting a crane quotation when the hook will carry a load together with a grab, magnet, lifting beam or separate rigging. It makes the suspended-mass breakdown clear.
Record the material or equipment being moved. Exclude an attachment that you will enter in the next field.
Add the empty attachment and separate rigging once each. Use zero when an item is not fitted, and choose the correct unit for every component.
Calculate, check the total mass and copy or download the result for your RFQ. State which items your total includes.
Payload 5,000 kg; lifting attachment 200 kg; slings and rigging 50 kg.
The total is 5,250 kg, or 5.25 metric tonnes. At standard gravity this corresponds to a static force of 51.4849 kN.
Total suspended mass is the combined mass you have entered; it is not an automatically selected crane or hoist rating.
The static-force output converts mass using 9.80665 m/s². It adds no acceleration, impact or design factor.
If a grab’s stated loaded mass already includes its own weight, split the entries correctly or enter that complete value once.
Adding an attachment twice because it is already included in the quoted loaded weight. Also check whether a supplier’s rating convention includes the hook block.
Total suspended mass = payload + attachment + rigging
Equivalent static force = total mass × 9.80665 m/s²
No. Send the breakdown to the supplier so the crane rating, hoist arrangement and operating duty can be checked together.
Use the rating convention stated by your crane supplier. This form counts the payload, attachment and rigging you enter; it does not automatically add or subtract crane components.
