Crane Test Teams Practise Emergency Response for Work at Height

Henan Mine and the national lifting-machinery inspection centre held an emergency drill on 14 June 2022. The exercise focused on response to a fall during crane testing work at height.

Exercise reviews coordination and available resources

The programme included pre-shift briefing, emergency command, resource allocation and a simulated rescue. Personnel practised the coordination required when normal test work is interrupted by an emergency.

Testing preparation includes response planning

The drill gave the participating teams an opportunity to review roles and the sequence of their response. The activity formed part of the company’s safety programme for crane testing.

For a witnessed factory test, the work area, participating personnel and emergency arrangements should be agreed before activities begin.
