BUYING DECISION

For an urgent repair, match the failed assembly before comparing price. For planned maintenance, stock parts whose failure stops production and whose replacement lead time exceeds the shutdown window.

01Which overhead crane parts do you need?

Separate the lifting mechanism from the bridge and trolley travel systems. The same crane capacity can use different hoists, wheel profiles, drives and electrical controls. Start with the crane and component nameplates; then confirm the assembly drawing and revision.

Assembly Common replacement items Critical matching point
Hoist Rope, drum, sheaves, brake and gearbox Reeving, rope specification, ratio and brake torque
Bridge or trolley travel Wheels, shafts, bearings and geared drives Rail profile, wheel tread, mounting and drive geometry
Electrical system Contactors, limits, pendant and radio controls Voltage, circuit function, interface and protective rating

Do not substitute a lifting brake with a similar-looking unit or choose a rope from diameter alone. Load-bearing and safety-related replacements need the equipment manufacturer’s specification or an approved engineering equivalent.

02Compare a loose part with a complete assembly

Low unit prices often cover the bare component. A wheel price may exclude its shaft and bearings; a drum may arrive without its bearing housings. A complete assembly can reduce site work, but only when its interfaces match the existing crane.

For a gearbox, verify ratio, output torque, shaft dimensions, keyways, orientation, lubrication and duty. For a sheave, verify rope groove, pitch diameter, bore, bearings and retention. For a drum, verify groove hand, rope anchorage, shaft arrangement and coupling interface. Photos support identification; measured drawings determine fit.

Where several hoist components are worn, compare the repair scope with a complete wire rope electric hoist. Include the installation changes needed for either option.

03Overhead crane spare parts: reference prices

Replacement component Public reference, USD per piece What the range covers
Parallel-shaft hoist gearbox $300–$2,000 Multiple reducer sizes and ratios; matching shafts and mounting required
Drawing-built wire rope drum $1,000–$5,000 Multiple drum sizes; bearings, shaft and coupling scope must be agreed
Machined steel sheave $100–$600 Multiple sizes and groove profiles; pin and bearing scope varies

The gearbox listing was checked on 28 October 2026; the drum and sheave ranges were recorded on 24 October 2026. These marketplace family ranges are not Henan Mine quotations or installed repair prices. Dimensions are not mapped to the endpoints. Freight, tax, removal, alignment and commissioning require separate pricing.

Compare offers at the same supply level. Specify whether each line includes machining, heat-treatment records, inspection results, bearings, fasteners and preservation for shipment. A lower bare-part price can become a higher repair cost after local machining and repeat assembly.

04Stock critical spares and verify replacements

Build the spare-parts shelf around downtime exposure. Common electrical items and wear parts may justify local stock; expensive custom assemblies need a lead-time and failure-risk decision. Keep the part number, drawing revision, installed location and approved substitutes with each stocked item.

Inspect dimensions, identification and agreed documents before dismantling the serviceable assembly. After installation, the responsible service team must complete the specified adjustment and functional checks. The crane’s inspection and test requirements depend on the alteration and applicable rules.

If repeated failures involve several mechanisms, review the application and duty of the complete overhead crane before buying another set of identical spares.

05Buyer questions

Can another manufacturer supply replacement crane parts?

Yes, where the replacement is verified against the required drawing, material, performance and interfaces. A shared capacity or model description does not prove equivalence.

Should the lowest-priced spare part win?

Compare the accepted installed result: compatible parts, required documents, installation work and downtime. Compare unit prices only after aligning those scopes.
